Philosophy of Marriage

A WALK-AROUND TO HEAVENLY MATCH

Assalamu Alaikum dear Brothers and Sisters

Welcome to
H E A V E N L Y M A T C H
Our web-based marriage help service.

Marriage is a covenant (meethaaq) between the husband and wife and between Allah and the couple to:

“fa imsakun bema’roofin au tasreehun be’ihsaan” [ Holy Qur’an 2:229 ]

Keep them in good fellowship or (let them) go with kindness.

Allah (swt) has said:
‘Marry off those who are single among you and the saliheen among your male slaves and your female slaves. If they are poor, Allah will enrich them out of His grace, and Allah is All-Bounteous, All-Knowing. Those who cannot afford marriage should be content until Allah enriches them out of His grace.’ [ Holy Qur’an 24:32-33 ]

Our beloved Holy Prophet Muhammad (sawa), said in his hadith:

‘Ma buniya fil-islami ahabbu ilallahi ‘azza wa jalla minat-tazweej’
No foundation is more beloved in the eyes of Allah than a house founded on marriage.

In addition he has said:

‘Man tarak at-tazweeja makhaafat al-‘eelah, faqad asaa’a az-zanna billahi ‘azza wa jall.’
Whoever does not marry because due to his concern for lack of finances, (is as though he) has doubts (soo uz-zann) about Allah (‘azza wa jall).

Marriage is a, highly recommended act (as-sunnat al-muakkadah) and a tradition of the Holy Prophet (sawa) and that of the Ahl ul-Bayt (a.s.).

Islam encourages us to lead a life that will bring divine blessings by exercising chastity, morality and piety. With the intention (neyyat) of seeking Allah’s pleasure , every action of a believer is an act of ‘ibadat’ (worship), including the act of marriage.

But it is of fundamental importance to learn and practice the just balance Islam has taught. This is the balance of the the rights and duties (huqooq and faraaidh). If this balance is learnt and practiced, our marriages will be heavenly and full of blessings (barakaat).

We at the Muslim Congress’ Heavenly Match service pray for your eternal happiness (sa’adat) and wish you a happy-ever-after and blessed partnership.

Waffaqakumullahu wa iyyana lemardhaatihi.
